Speeding up Safety Certifications with Code Coverage Based on TRACE32® and the LDRA Tool Suite

Code coverage measurement is a requirement for safety certification to evaluate the completeness of test cases and demonstrate that there is no unintended functionality. A typical challenge for measuring code coverage is the potential impact on real-time behavior and the increased code size when using instrumentation. Another challenge is measuring code coverage without access to a debugger.

The combination of the state-of-the-art LDRA tool suite and TRACE32®-based code coverage provides an excellent customer experience for efficient and time-saving code coverage measurements in all software development and test phases. Trace-based code coverage offered by TRACE32® helps to reduce the amount of necessary code instrumentation and thus the number of required builds and runs.

Code coverage offered by the LDRA tool suite provides excellent code coverage in cases where the TRACE32® debugger cannot be connected to the target. The LDRA tool suite combines the TRACE32®-based coverage results with the LDRA code coverage results, allowing the user to easily manage and document complete code coverage results. Both TRACE32® and the LDRA tool suite provide broad support for target devices, architectures, and operating systems, while supporting all required coverage metrics for safety certifications such as ISO 26262 and DO-178C.

Attend this webinar to learn how to seamlessly integrate TRACE32® with LDRA tool suite to get the big picture from unit to system test with significant savings in time and effort compared to traditional solutions.
